Steven Tysor
Mr. Tysor holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas and has been teaching since 2009, beginning his career in the math classroom. He joined New Tech in 2021, where he helped build and grow our Robotics program, including leading a team that advanced to the VEX Robotics World Championship last year.
He often describes himself as a “jack of all trades, master of none,” a philosophy that reflects his adaptable, hands-on approach to teaching and learning. Mr. Tysor encourages students to explore, problem-solve, and learn through trial and refinement—modeling the idea that growth comes from persistence and curiosity.
Known for his honesty, tough love, and genuine belief in his students’ potential, Mr. Tysor consistently brings out the best in those he teaches. By holding high expectations while offering steady support, he inspires students to rise to challenges, take ownership of their work, and see themselves as capable, skilled problem-solvers.
