Tab Lloyd
A beloved member of our New Tech family, Mrs. Lloyd has been inspiring young artists for 27 years and radiates positivity in every corner of our campus. She is known in the New Tech family for her creativity, leadership, and the unmistakable tie-dye flair that has become an integral part of our school culture. As the mentor of our Dragon Council, she plays a major role in shaping school spirit and student leadership, and her influence can be felt in many of our signature traditions—including the fan-favorite Trashion Show each spring.
Tab’s favorite artistic mediums are acrylic paint and collage, but her true passion lies in developing students as people. She believes the heart of art education is the process: facing a challenge, crafting a plan, adapting through twists and turns, accepting feedback, refining the work, presenting it with pride, and reflecting on growth. For her, this cycle is less about the subject matter and more about the development of confidence, resilience, and voice.
She is also a champion for student visibility in the arts, consistently encouraging and supporting students in showcasing their work in local galleries and community exhibits. Tab’s kindness, dedication, and belief in young people make New Tech, in her words, “the best place on earth to work with young people”—and her presence is a big reason why.
